From classical music to the disco era of the 1970s, from punk and rock to folk and jazz, this tour retraces decades of music history through the places where some of the world's most influential musical movements were born.

We will meet at 4:30 PM outside P.J. Clarke’s, a historic New York establishment located just steps from Lincoln Center.

From here, our journey through New York's musical history begins.

Lincoln Center & Juilliard School

The first part of the tour focuses on one of the world's greatest performing arts complexes: Lincoln Center, New York’s home of opera, classical music, and ballet.

We will also see the renowned Juilliard School, one of the most prestigious institutions for music, dance, and drama in the world. Juilliard has trained generations of artists and even served as the inspiration for the famous performing arts school featured in Fame.

Carnegie Hall & Studio 54

We will continue to Carnegie Hall, one of the most celebrated concert venues in music history, where countless legendary performers have appeared on stage.

A short walk away stands the iconic Studio 54.

Far more than a nightclub, Studio 54 became a global cultural phenomenon and the ultimate symbol of 1970s New York. It represents the golden age of disco music, fashion, celebrity culture, and nightlife.

East Village – CBGB and the Birth of Punk

We will then head downtown to the East Village and Lower East Side, entering a completely different side of New York.

Here, we will visit the site of the legendary CBGB, one of the most important venues in the history of punk and alternative music.

The Ramones, Blondie, Patti Smith, and Talking Heads are just a few of the artists forever connected to this iconic club, which became a symbol of New York’s rebellious music scene in the 1970s.

Andy Warhol & The Velvet Underground

Continuing through the city’s counterculture history, we will explore the story of Andy Warhol and The Factory, and their profound influence on New York’s music scene.

We will also discuss Warhol’s connection to The Velvet Underground, one of the most influential bands in rock history.

Led Zeppelin – Physical Graffiti

In the Lower East Side, we will stop at one of the most recognizable buildings for rock fans worldwide.

Its famous façade became immortalized on the cover of Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti, one of the most iconic albums ever released.

Greenwich Village & West Village

Next, we will continue into Greenwich Village and the West Village, neighborhoods that played a crucial role in the development of American folk, blues, and rock music.

We will walk through streets that for decades have been home to musicians, songwriters, artists, and underground clubs.

Among the highlights is the legendary Café Wha?, a historic venue associated with the early New York careers of Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, and Bruce Springsteen.

Along the way, we will also discover other famous music venues and clubs where live performances continue to thrive today.

The tour concludes in Greenwich Village, one of New York’s most vibrant and historic music districts, leaving you perfectly positioned to continue exploring the city's legendary live music scene on your own.
